Saranac River

The only catch of the day, a new species, well if it counts 😬. Casted a jerkbait off and lost a giant pike, oh well I’ll get em next time.

Caught my biggest brown out of the Saranac so far, a beautiful 15 incher that ate my little z-man swimbait. Two other species of fish were hungry today too! Also, what’s with brown trout being labeled as Sea Trout on here?

Spent some time wading and exploring a section of the Saranac I haven’t really fished before and caught some really good fish. In total I got two smallmouth and a pike, with the smallies being 18 and 16 inches long. I lost a really nice pike right at my feet that I estimated was between 27-28 inches. Definitely a spot I will be trying again soon.

This beautiful 4lb Walleye crushed my 6th sense swimbait nearly top-water! I was letting it basically skim across the surface downstream of me when he hit it. He put up an incredible fight against the current below the spillway. My luck on the river didn’t end there because afterwards I landed about 15 little smallmouth and 5 fallfish. I even managed to find a brand new jitterbug! #catch24
