Old Fort Bayou

I went searching for sheepshead last night. I didn't even get a nibble for the longest time, and I started thinking that I might get skunked. In the end, I managed to catch a small sheeper, a stingray, and this bull Black Drum. I took it and ran, lol...Actually, I stayed and punished myself for several more hours, thinking that I was going to catch some more. Didn't happen....

The catch of the day turned out to be this bull red. It was a great outing overall!

I had a pretty good night overall. I caught a lot of smaller fish at first and was thinking about calling it after the bite ended about 9pm. I had been hearing a lot of activity across the bayou, but I learned not to chase splashing fish, lol. Well, i probably should have on this occasion. I decided to go check it out, so I casually trolled over towards the sound, marking fish on the simrad as I went. When I finally started casting in the spot, long after the bite had ended, I immediately started hooking up on reds and black drum. The prize was a 22" keeper red. Overall, I caught 4 reds, three black drum, three sheepshead, and one speckled trout.

I also caught some puppy drum.

I managed one keeper speckled trout. This guy just made the cut at 15".

First time out in about a month. I put some Black Oak spotlights on the boat so that I can fish when the good tides fall at night. I also tried fiddler crabs for targeting sheepshead. Meh results as i caught small ones. Still, it was great to be fishing again!

I caught a bunch of fish today, but they were all smalls. This red was less than an inch short. All in all, 1 redfish, 1 black drum, 2 sheepshead, 1 speckled trout, and 17 white trout.
