Flies got snubbed by the coho yesterday, so I headed to a rocky shoreline to see what would grab a fly. Caught a few rock greenling including this little show pony. Pic doesn't really do it justice, though.

Starry flounder hit a slowly stripped chartreuse and white Clouser just beyond the mouth of Monashka Creek. The tide was starting to reflood the bay. Bear picture is from the creek just upstream of where it flows into the bay.

Large yellowfin sole hit an ALF pattern tied to resemble a Pacific herring as the tide was starting to flood.

Tom Trout
Yellowfin sole grabbed a large ALF in the mid to upper water column. Surprised to see a flat fish range so far off of the bottom and hit a large fly.

Small sole hit a black, olive and white Clouser at low tide.

While prospecting for a coho, caught my first kelp greenling on a fly. Grabbed a black, olive and white Clouser next to a kelp bed. Salmon stayed well off of the shoreline this morning.

Before breakfast stopped by a terminal fishery to see if any silvers were cruising near the beach. Only found pinks, a couple of seals and a very loud loon. Several pinks were kind enough to grab a chartreuse and white deceiver.

Great day on the ocean!
