After a heavy downpour, today was really a tough day just to get one bite on the lure 🥲 Been casting since 5.30pm and the pond had more anglers today using bottom fishing method, everyone was throwing their fishing line into the centre of the pond (for whatever their game fish maybe) but there were no bites/ action, totally zero. As for me, I was hunting for either barramundi/ snakehead but you’ll never be certain what fish might take your lure, just need to be prepared for whatever that comes. Knowing that the pond is a high pressured area and since everyone is fishing from the centre, I decided to just cast 1 feet away along the banks (reel it slowly, making the lure as if it’s an easy meal for any fish within the strike zone), and that’s when the lure got hit by the snakehead, it happened so quickly that the fish ambushed it, and dive back under the banks 😂 Didn’t even have the need to set hook at all, it literally bit the lure and dive 😮‍💨 Thankfully, equipped with a balanced equipment, the fish was landed and released safely too ☺️ That’s a wrap for the weekend guys, tight lines as always and a Happy Easter to all who celebrate 🐣 🤝 🫶 . Weather was really dark and cloudy this morning and spotted this bass swimming in and out, just beneath the banks and will not swim to other areas (perhaps nest), still did some casting along the banks and whenever the sinking minnow passes by it will come out and investigate but will not take the lure 🥲 Had to change strategy and decided to just try ‘teknik celup2’ and create water surface disturbance right in front of the nest and thankfully managed to trigger a reaction strike 😮‍💨 .
