I was startled by the fish when it just grab and go, guess the slow retrieve works in giving time for the fish to aim at the lure and bite properly. The 1st dive, it went for the broken branches half way across the lake and on the 2nd dive - went for a hole beneath me (wth..) and stayed stuck there for awhile before giving up. .
