Honestly, I would love to catch a 40 pound or 40 inch fish but the small guys make my day they fight just as good as a big fish good times

Our very first fish since moving to New England from the Bayou!! Hope to making many posts in the future.

A few good slot stripers today, despite the tides working against me. Biggest was just over 35” and the smallest 30”. All fish released unharmed … good times!! 👍 💪 🎣 🤙

30 POUND STRIPER!!! - PERSONAL BEST ALERT - I knew yesterday was going to be an epic #Catch22 day - it started big with a topwater slot Striper on the first cast of the morning (thank you “Doc”!) … and finished with a PB Striper for me measuring 30.3 pounds and 45.5 inches - on my last cast. Total #beastmode fish that was my honor to catch - AND release…. with a big kick-splash to tell me she will see me again as a 50-pounder someday!! Sorry for the swearing in the video but I was in awe of this fish!! Woohoo!!

Today was a very good day!! Didn’t feel that way for most of the day…. and I think that is the lesson for today: perseverance… putting the hard hours in … and grinding. They was me — grinding all day… first, just to find bait, which has been sparse and finicky. Then, despite seeing countless stripers on the sonar - none would BITE! It was a bit maddening … but at least I knew they were there - just playing hard to get. But then a double hook up had both my rods bent over and I was scrambling. 8 minutes of total chaos … landed both fish - the largest shown here crossed the 40” mark and weighed in at over 23 lbs. #Catch22 Beastmode kinda day!! …. 💪 🎣 🤙
