First time catching this guy

Tried saltwater earlier but got rained out. So I stopped by a new freshwater canal bridge I haven’t visited yet to catch this skunk beater. I think I’m gonna have to try a slightly bigger hook cuz these little guys can be a bit bigger lol

Wow wow wow 🤩 landed an Alligator Gar on top water what a rush! Top water was popping this morning, lots of activity under a tree with a bunch of eel grass growing underneath, so why not throw a frog. Started getting strikes right away but none of them stuck, frog would get pulled under but couldn’t set the hook over and over and over…. So I decided to put on something a little smaller first cast on the popper landed this thing. My first top water fish couldn’t be happier! Wasn’t able to weight it cuz there was no way to unless I had a bag or something, anyone have any suggestions for the next time I gotta weight a fish you can’t lip grip? #catch22
