Finally caught some red tail surf perch! Got two keepers, but caught 7 total!!!!!!! Checked with WDFW and learned, if licensed and in season (which I have and it is) you can harvest make dungenous crab from the shore on the Long Beach Peninsula. Went out with my wife and daughter during low tide and found four! More meat on them than I realized! We bought a container of crab meat that was probably slightly half of what we picked out of the crab we got, it was $22.00! I think I paid $8.00 for the license and another $8.00 for a fancy crab measuring tool (where we were at they needed to be 6” or greater). It was a fun time, now I’m on the shore of The Bay seeing what I can catch using crab lungs as bait. 🤔😁

Tried going for surf perch today, first time, no idea what I’m doing, lol. At least got something, sculpin I’m pretty sure. Had something bigger on, but poor hook set and it got off, maybe a crab. It was still fun though! Hopefully more posts this week of some catches!
