Blanding City Number Three Reservoir

Caught 5 total. Released first 2 and kept next 3.

Took a couple hours yesterday to enjoy some bass jigging. The Z-Man jig and craw setup I have really does the trick; I hooked about 5 bass, nothing longer than maybe 9in, all released. Nice day besides the wind. 🙂

Did some bassing yesterday, mostly to practice. Nothing too big. I lost my small jig in some reeds and decided to experiment with carolina rig and wacky sticks, BUT... When the wacky hook got stuck on something and I pulled it out, it had my lost little jig! I figured it was best for me to take my wins and go home after that. 😆

I decided to put some effort into learning bass jigging a couple days ago and it sure paid off! Even with an annoying wind and serious inexperience, I pulled in 4 bass, kept the largest, and lost a fifth. I worked over some of the very few reed beds around the waters I fish at, though I had to stay out at the edges, and it was really fun to watch the bass prowling around. I even saw a couple of the strikes I managed to set my hook into. Funny enough, I wouldn't have tried jigging if I hadn't recently found a possibly new weedless jig someone had just left by the other reservoir. I cut leaders off the LONG length of fluoro originally tied to it and it holds up well--way better than my typical 8lb trout trilene would have.

I guess the trout are getting pretty desperate in this reservoir if they're hitting... My bass rigged spinnerbair? This is the third or fourth trout I've landex with that lure. It was a quiet afternoon but I still got a couple good trout on a bobber rig in the evening.

I've been studying some recommendations for spinnerbait bass fishing, and it paid off today! I pulled in a fat largie on a spinner with a handmade bait I got from an Etsy business. Second time using spinnerbaits.

I've switched to mostly daytime fishing because I'm a wimp about really cold nights. Great fishing today; 6 rainbow trout and a fat largemouth! Bass coming soon.
