Me and Jayden went to a spot yesterday that we had only tried once for a little bit. Wind was blowing over 30mph at times. We were really only able to fish one half of the tank. We took a few cast on the windy side when we first got there but both of our lures ended up getting carried into the cattails before they even hit the water by the wind and we both snapped off. So we went over to the other side which was effected by the wind a lot less and I tied on a Texas rig. Tossed in the junebug bandito bug and just let it sit there for a little bit while I messed with something on my reel. Once I was finished I started feeling up my slack and saw my line taking of to the right so I set the hook and landed the first little guy. Always love getting to set the hook with a Texas rig! No more fish for several hours after that. Right before we decided to leave I tied on a smaller chartreuse spinner bait and made a cast out to make sure my reel was set good. Then I reeled it in and on my first good cast I hooked into a nice two pounder. Went 2 pounds even in the scale. That was the last fish of the day. We both decided that this wasn’t a super great spot mainly because there was very little bank access. Still always happy to catch fish. Got to get Jayden one next time.
