Recent Catches At Mingo Creek

I may have found the ideal sucker rig. If you can get the bait in front of them for long enough they usually take it. The two issues are that you may not be able to see your bait and small fish packet the bait before you can get it in front of the sucker. I have diminished these issues by putting a piece of chartreuse soft plastic between the weight and bait on a split shot rig. It gives you a visual and distracts the small fish. It paid off with this nice fish. #CATCH22 cantidate for @FishAngler Team feature

Absolutely nuts! I had a scud on the tenkara and saw some suckers feeding. I put it in front of one and bounced it till it ate it...great fight (4 ish minutes) but he fell back in while unhooking so no pic. I later pulled the same trick on a slightly bigger one... Only this time I was in for a 17 minute fight and ended up going in after it... This tenkara (as most are) is designed for sub 12 inch fish, and 18 inches is definitely pushing it's limits, but I pulled it off.

Out with the tenkara. I've of my 3 fishing goals this year was 20 species on the fly (up to 8 with these). Got some commons, chubs, and my first redbreasts of the year... Check out my profile to see an insane catch I had today.

Monday was tough...20 minutes with the 2 wt, 1 hour with the tenkara rod and another 20 with the spinning rod and only one bite and got this guy. I also learned that getting snagged with tenkara is very hard to deal with since you cannot just pull on it to snap off...any tips for that are appreciated.

Mission Discover
Put my extra corn from carp fishing to work. 15 chubs and 2 good sized spottails.

Mission Discover
Last two times I was out it was below twenty degrees, and creeks were flooded. Today was much better, and granted me some fish
