Chetco River

Spent the day mostly seeing small jacks being caught... few and far between. I think there were 30 boats out there with multiple lines each. It was pretty ridiculous and I wasn't keeping my hopes up. Last pass of the day, the guide rigged a new anchovy for me and it did the trick! The salmon was caught on about 30 feet of line and definitely pitched a good fit. Haha! I had some sashimi fresh at the cleaning station and have apple wood smoked one of the tail pieces. Outstanding fish! I'm hooked. 😆🐟
