Today is day one of my 3 day weekend however tomorrow is going to be an all day event trying to get the Boy in to take his Written Driver's Permit Test (nothing like waiting in line from 0430-0800) and Tuesday will be trying to get the Beastly Mini Boat legal. So decided to hit the usual spot. Glad I brought the 🔥H$K🔥 Hat. Lady at Walmart saw it and said "no charge Sir" but I explained H$K Members always pay their way 🤪. Hope you all have a great day!!

Mission today was to add at least one more good sized fish for my final day of vacation dinner tomorrow. For the first hour I was plagued by a nasty arse turtle literally patrolling the bank that I was on. He'd stare at me, wait for me to cast, look for my bobber and steal my bait. A few times the bluegills beat him to the worm but he was pissing me off and I wasn't switching spots because of him. So I put just a little bit of worm on my hook and I pretended to be his buddy. Finally I got him hooked and he didn't bother me anymore 😉. I used one gill for bait and hooked into the biggest catfish I've ever seen in that pond but I failed to bring my net and he was on my ultralight. While trying to pull him over the weeds he snapped off. After that I hooked into another turtle that was the size of a dinner plate but again no net and on my ultralight... I was so worked up that I couldn't tie my hook on my ultralight. While texting Tone, I heard my bells jingling on my heavier rod/reel and nabbed this keeper size catfish. I did get the ultralight setup again but I have a few things I need to do today so I cleaned up the catfish and headed home. While cleaning the fish I felt a poke and found a hook inside him. Guess he broke someone else off recently. Hope everyone else is having a great day. 😀

Visited the Baby Catfish Pond this morning to get rid of leftover nightcrawlers from yesterday. Caught a couple keeper size channel cats but let them go. Hopefully they bite again later this week so I can fry them up 🌮🌮. Hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th of July!! 🎣

Didn't take pictures of the flock of bluegills that I tore into but here are a few catches from today. I also banked a big nasty turtle but he dug in and snapped my 4 lb test. Hope everyone is having a great day!
