Harpers Lake

Finally got a chance to get the wife and I to the water. Perch were decent eating size, and the trout tasted good, too!

Caught a couple of Cajun fish. Boy it was cold at 6, but the lines were tight!

Biggest Cutthroat I've caught so far.

My wife fought this big girl hard. Caught the last 30 seconds before netting her. Total fight time was probably 7 min. Her new PB. 26 inches and 8 lb on the nose. Fish steaks!

Got a decent haul. We didn't limit out but these are the biggest 3 we got. 15, 16.5 and 17 inches. Took the prop of the trolling motor and cleaned it up, didn't realized I was helping clean up the lake one piece of line at a time!

Biggest fish fought for about 7 minutes trying to net her, but the single fish broke my main rod. Good thing I had a back up! Pulled a nice Brown from the Clearwater River on a cheap spinner from Walmart. fished for 3 days and got 16 fish. Our neighbor always appreciates it since she can't catch her own.

My wife and I went to the lake on Thursday to get away and breathe. Its been a hard week, we lost our 22 year old daughter, Monica, on Monday to ostesarcoma. She had been battling it for 8 years, we had been staying busy by meeting with friends and making arrangements so we thought that it would be good to get away. The silence at the lake was deafening, left with nothing to do but wait for a bite trapped us within our own heads. The lake will never be the same but we look forward to seeing you again beside the silver water above.
