PB LET'S GOOOOO! Pardon my squeaks and squeals, I was a little intimidated by the size of this fish. This big boy got me all shook up. 🕺 I know it's a cliche, but the largie before was even bigger than this one. I was about to grab it, and it twitched its massive head and snapped my leader. But it was yuge. The kind of fish that will increase in size in my memory the older I get. I didn't have any more wide gap hooks, so I switched to a chartreuse jig head with the same plastic worm. And this next sizeable beast grabbed it. I fought it for 5... 10... 30 minutes! It wrapped my line around some lily pads, but I think that actually helped to wear it out a little bit without snapping anything else.

I left Geralt on my car, since it looked like it was gonna storm any minute. That storm took it's sweet time, and I got a little haul from shore. An older couple approached me when I caught a 3rd (and last) bass, and asked me if I was gonna keep it. I said No, just catch and release for me. They asked me if they could have it, and I said It's kinda little, but sure, as long as you eat it! They said they ran the restaurant First Wok for 30 years before they retired recently, so they know how to cook everything. They're enjoying retirement with some catch and cook fishing. Super nice folks, I hope they caught something bigger than I did tonight!
