South Side City Park Pond

Had a meeting nearby Southside park yesterday, decided to drop a hook in beforehand. Catches here are so rare, I'll celebrate anything I catch!

First Crappie in this pond!

I picked up a set of heavier rooster tails for my son to throw, to try to help offset his arm strength. Naturally I had to try them out!

First ever catch at Southside Park! I have been coming here on and off ever since last fall, and was all but convinced that the pond was dead except for the posts that other people have put up here. I also caught a sunfish shortly after this one, but the hook went through his head rather than his mouth, and it was a real struggle to get it out. Poor guy, I threw him back in without taking his picture because I felt so bad for him.

Another slow night last night, but one little crappie came out to say hello; thanks for biting, buddy! 🙏🎣

Thank you Glenn, Adinesha & Kelly for being my good luck charms tonight! 🤙🎣 Another guy out there fishing said he was having success on a surprising bait for this little fish pit; mystery bait to be revealed when I land my first bass on one!

New creek PB! 🎣 Got out for a couple hours after work yesterday, and whacked a little Fat Sally on the last cast (probably would've been 4th or 5th to last if we hadn't caught one. 😇). Was actually *1.66 lbs, the grippers weigh 0.13. Every time I try to give a fish a dunk after weighing, they end up slipping me before picture day 💔
