Belleville Park Pond

The good news, I got to go fishing! The bad news, I went to Bellevue and it still sucks.

Officially caught my smallest bass ever 😭 was going for panfish but hey it’ll do😂🤷🏾‍♂️

Been a LONG time since I caught anything at all at Bellevue. The waters here are completely mismanaged, usually overgrown, and the fish are overpressured. Even so, I took my wife today so she could try out a few different poles to replace her ladyfish that recently got snapped. Naturally, she caught a fish on her first cast! But I i actually managed to snag a few as well!

Just before it was time to leave I walked down the shore a bit and saw quite a few bluegill sitting in suspension. Quickly busted out my favorite bluegill hardbait. And got two catches in quick succession!

Few on a Carolina rig the other day; taking a crack at using 2 bobber stops in place of a swivel & stop so we can better adjust leader length on the fly, and switch up to a Texas rig quickly if needed. So far, it's doing well! Might try 2 stops toward the hook and 1 toward the rod tip to prevent occasionak sliding down the line, but it hasn't been necessary yet 🤙🎣

A new size record! 🤣 Smallest fish I've ever caught! For real, guys, Bellevue pond is in BAD shape. Grass everywhere,it's like a jungle down there! I'm no good with a jig, and don't even OWN stickbait, so the only thing I could throw was my 1/16 rooster tail. Ah well, at least it wasn't a skunk. 🦨

I wasn't even at the park today to fish, but on the far end the water was so clear you could see the fish standing in suspension. I couldn't help myself in through a hook in a few times. Heads up, the rest of the pond is so full of grass that you need a weed eater to go fishing.
