Condel Lake

My neighbor gave me a vintage crankbait, an L&S jointed minnow. Got a nice tilapia on the fourth or fifth cast!

Targeting blue tilapia tonight at the neighborhood pond, got a really nice bullhead instead. If I caught one like this in a spring-fed lake I'd be having it for dinner tomorrow night.

Catching up from last night - from the pond across the street, a blue tilapia now residing in the backyard pool. Not going to release an invasive species back into the wild, and I'm anxious to find out how much bigger (and de-toxified) he'll get with a few months of feeding. At some point, my cast-iron skillet awaits!

Was expecting a bluegill on such a tiny lure. #Catch22

Catching up from Friday night... threw the same beetle spin around at sundown, started off with a dink, maybe 10", and finished the evening with a "monster", at least by the standards of this little mud hole. Definitely a PB since I've started fishing again. BTW, curious to know if y'all think the grub is now too mangled or still hardly used, 😆. #Catch22

This morning's catch. I hate trasholes.

Spent about 30 minutes casting the beetle spin just to be outside and enjoy the sunset, got a catfish like I did last week. My neighbor didn't think a catfish would hit a lure, we had been talking for 10 minutes when I reeled him in. It was already a good evening, the kitty made it a great one. #catch22

Was throwing an old-school beetle spin around, thought I might get a large bluegill or maybe a small bass, got a catfish instead. Little fella must have been really hungry! #Catch22
