Zhiben Wetlands

There is no better way to spend the day than spending it fishing with parents or children. Once again dad and I had a blast today!!! Dad caught one, the biggest of the day, tilapia, and I caught 6 carp. Overall, it was an amazing day even if the fish were dinks! Dinks are about all that one can hope for here in Eastern Taiwan's fresh waters. Not a new species but the hunt continues to find new species. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy catching what I can, when I can, no matter the size. Fish on, everyone!

This little carp was my 20th catch in Taiwan. Dad caught his 4th fish and 2nd species here as well. I am a little envious because he caught a new species, but in fact I was super happy for him for to catch a fish! Superb outing and glad we both caught a fish that day.

Caught my 17th fish in Taiwan today. Another little guy but he still put a smile on my face! Another great day fishing with dear ole dad!

New Year's Eve Dink! New species #7. Caught this little guy using a Tenkara rod and an Earthworm. He comes in at a whopping 2 inches/51 millimeters, smallest fish I have ever hooked but it was still exciting to hook this guy! Not sure of the species but it has big bulging black eyes and blueish tinted scales. Great way to send 2021 off! More to come in 2022!! Actually hooked 4 more little dinks but couldn't land them so I am super happy to have landed this little guy. Fish on!
