This is my second time engaging in ocean fishing, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! The marine life dwelling beneath the waves is incredibly diverse. Each fish I reeled in appeared distinct from the previous one I had just caught. It's truly amazing to witness the sheer beauty of these underwater creatures!

My dad and I were aboard a fishing charter boat, enjoying our time about 1 mile from the shore. There were 10 anglers on the boat, making it quite a lively group. We were having a fantastic time! Despite most of his catches being no bigger than two fingers, my dad insisted on keeping them all. I couldn't help but laugh at him throughout the trip!

As far as bait goes, the fishing boat captain had quite a variety prepared for us: live sand worms, marinated prawns, frozen arctic shrimp, cut baits... you name it! He even set up a trap cage filled with feeder pellets and sank it about 25 feet below the surface of the ocean. This cage serves to attract fish towards our boat. To make things even more exciting, he attached an underwater camera to the cage so we could clearly see the fish coming in attempting to eat the pellets. For our fishing technique, we used a dropshot rig with three hooks spaced 10 inches apart. We would drop this rig near the cage, and when the fish spotted our tempting baits, they would turn away from the cage and go straight for our offerings! I must say, this method proved to be incredibly effective. We ended up catching numerous fish and had an absolute blast doing so!

I caught this pufferfish near a hotel where I stayed in China. It had beautiful patterns on its back, and I was not sure what puffer species this is? This was the only fish I caught at this location. And the only fish from a $300 new rod that I bought just 5 days ago. Sadly, I accidentally snapped it in between rocks right after...
