Campbell River

Day 2 at Campbell river back in August. My brother and I caught and released a few dozen fish. I got my fly reel repaired that morning after breaking the handle while fighting a salmon. Unfortunately luck was not on my side and my 5wt fly rod snapped in half a few hours later. I was using a 5x tippet and fighting the salmon for quite a few minutes when it snapped. So I went back to the shop with a repaired reel, but a broken fly rod and just bought a whole new set up. I upgraded to a higher end Redington and the difference in casting ability compared to my previous Echo fly rod was amazing. It was a great day even with the set backs

This was back in August. We spent 3 days on the river and caught upwards of 50 pink salmon. This was day one. The river was thick with them. On the first day I broke the handle off fly rod while fighting a fish. I also caught my first salmon that day, they fight like no other fish. It was one of the best days of fishing I have had. Third photo is my PB, and the biggest of the trip. I didn’t get a length on the fish, but my net is 30”
