Finally made it to Fishing Lake, still pretty choppy when we first got there. The Lake is very open, 15 km/hr winds are rough water. The first spot yielded only two, across the lake, 10+. Not vad for maybe 2 hours of fishing and all the best fish were camera shy. Fishing Lake is fairly large and fairly deep, 40 feet in most of Lake and the one bay gets down to 75 feet. The real magic is the shallow shoreline of the lake. It is all sand and gravel with a few weed beds. The water is very clear in the spring. About the first couple of hundred feet, it gradually gets to maybe 15 feet deep. It is absolutely loaded with fish, never had so many 50 fish trips. And there are big fish, a couple of 26" Walleye has been our best, which is OK. There was a 39.9 pound Pike released back into the Lake, 11 years ago. Kathy had something really big that got off before we saw it. We may try ice fishing this Winter. If not, this is our season and what a great one again.

Another 40 fish day on Fishing Lake on Sunday. Our usual spots were slower, we tried another shoreline and caught nearly half there.
