Ottawa River

Had a few minutes to fish off shore today, caught these 3 and a small pike in about 5 casts! First one I hooked, I saw a big school of smallies following it in. Landed the first one and watched where the school went and cast at them. After I caught these 3 they were gone, couldn’t get another bite! Stuff like this reminds me why I love smallmouth fishing ❤️

Had a great time with some dinks a few days ago! Had a tough time catching them in the afternoon, but as the sun got a little lower I started seeing bass blowing up on bait over some deeper water. I paddled around chasing blowups for a while and caught a bunch of aggressive 1-2 pounders 😆 That’s the way it goes sometimes, a ton of fun!! Also caught one on a homemade mouse wakebait! Was nice to test out a new lure and get a fish on the first day fishing it!

Kind of a weird one today.. saw a bunch of fish cruising but had a tougher time getting them to bite than usual. I also broke off one of the best of the day, that hurt 😆 check your line folks… Still a good day fishing, managed to get a few on a swimbait!

Only had an hour to fish tonight but found a few on a spinnerbait. Spinnerbaits are becoming one of my confidence techniques the last little while. 1/2oz double willow with the skirt removed and a swimbait trailer, does the trick for me! I love how hard they hit that thing lol 😁 #catch22

Some decent ones, some dinks, some rockbass. Also had a pile of hammer-handle pike that I didn’t bother getting pics of. 😅 Saw a monster 40”+ pike jump fully out of the water, needless to say I couldnt catch him lol. Pretty fun day once the storm stopped! #catch22

A bunch of smallies from today, no real good ones but it was a fun day. Had a few on hair jigs and ned rigs during the day, and a few on the choppo as the sun went down. Also caught a ton of rock bass the last two days, I added a pic of the chunkiest one 😄 #catch22
