Fishing in Mount Rushmore, South Dakota → Explore Fishing Spots & Catches

Day 2/3 of South Dakota! I caught two little bass in the 30 minutes of fishing I had! We woke up this morning at 9:00 and headed to the badlands. The badlands is like a huge dried up pit surrounded by really tall rocks and plateaus. At one of the spots we went too, we saw our first critter. A bunch if prairie dogs. We then adventured on to other spots were we saw some other animals. At first, we saw a group of small bighorn sheep. We then looked down into the valley and saw a monster big horn sheep. He almost had a full curl. We found out that there were only a few bighorn sheep in the badlands which made it even cooler. There is eatimated to be 250 bighorn sheep and we saw 12 of them. We then drove back to the cabin where I did alittle fishing and caught 2 bass. Later that night, we went to see crazy horse. It is a huge rock statue carved into a mountain. Today was pretty darn cool but i think tomorrow will better.🎣🐟#Catch23

Day one of South Dakota was pretty successful. I caught the one trout (which was 11.5” which is my pb) and I caught a little small mouth. The spot we are staying at was super fun and it had a swimming hole which stored some fish.🤩 We started the driving the day before all the way from Wisconsin to Sioux falls which we stayed the night at. We then slepped the night at a hotel and woke up the next morning to some more driving. Finally, we got there and went to the thunder moutain mine were we got a tour through the mine. We then headed to the place we stayed and fished and swam in the fishing hole. We caught tons of creek chub, a couple rock bass, a small mouth, the trout and a sucker which was a suprise when my friend reeled it in. We had a great time on our first day and Im exicted for the badlands tomorrow!🎣🐟#Catch23

Thought he was a big bass and inhaled a frog. Caught 3 other little guys and a perch on pumpkin senkos. Tough lake to fish with all of the vegetation!
