The only catch of the day, a new species, well if it counts 😬. Casted a jerkbait off and lost a giant pike, oh well I’ll get em next time.

Caught my biggest brown out of the Saranac so far, a beautiful 15 incher that ate my little z-man swimbait. Two other species of fish were hungry today too! Also, what’s with brown trout being labeled as Sea Trout on here?

Spent some time wading and exploring a section of the Saranac I haven’t really fished before and caught some really good fish. In total I got two smallmouth and a pike, with the smallies being 18 and 16 inches long. I lost a really nice pike right at my feet that I estimated was between 27-28 inches. Definitely a spot I will be trying again soon.

A cool little variety of species this morning. Surprisingly the first bullhead I’ve caught at school, so it was a neat surprise to pull him out of the river. Tried for eels again with no luck and the wind was brutal today. #Catch24

I caught a prehistoric fish today! I decided to try some cutbait up here for the first time and I caught my second ever Bowfin! I had heard some rumours of a couple being caught around here recently but I didn’t think I’d actually get one. The first time this fish bit he put me into a snag and came off, and it only took about 30 seconds after I tossed another piece of fallfish in until he bit again. Along with this rare fish, I caught plenty of fallfish and a few smallmouth bass. #Catch24

New PB! Today I went out on a mission to see how many species I could catch with a nightcrawler on a jighead and I caught something that I was not expecting. This 3lb 8oz Smallmouth is a new personal best for me, beating my old one by 4oz. In total I caught 4 species, which included tons and tons of fallfish, about 20 smallmouth, a rock bass, and a little pumpkinseed. I will definitely be using this technique again in the near future. #Catch24

Had a great day out on the river this evening and landed about a dozen smallmouth. Had to filter through the small ones to land these two studs. The biggest came in at around two and a quarter pounds and the other was a little under two. Everything that I caught today hammered my three inch whale swimbait. #Catch24
