First trout of 2025, gonna be a good year!

Some of the nicer looking guys from my lunch break and post work sessions today. Stockers were hammering the caddis and perdigon nymphs hanging in the deeper sections of slower water. Ended up catching 20, with the last one being the biggest and best fighter.

Somehow landed my PB rainbow yesterday on my two weight with 6x and a perdigon in fast water, never expected to get it in the net after I saw it come to the top but somehow kept him on. Super productive couple of hours, stopped counting at 10.

The suckers just started biting and they are fat as hell. The biggest 18 incher put a nice bend in the 2 weight, felt like a snag at first. 2 rainbows and 3 suckers in a little over an hour. Tightlining in deeper pools with majority taking the point black stone fly over the flashback pheasant tail from this week's ties. The warm weather and later sunset's right around the corner!

Super cold out today, only went out for a bit and got this guy on an orange hot shot perdigon I tied up this week. Called it quits after snagging a branch and breaking off cause I could barely tie back on.

Rivers still fairly high and flowing fast, snuck out for about an hour and landed these two beauties tucked on the sides in deeper slow moving pools. Both grabbed eggs I tied up this past week waiting for the weather to break and warm up some.

Went out for a quick session to kick off 2024 with the river still flowing fast. No luck on pheasant tail or zebra midges, swapped to disco and egg pattern with some heavy splitshot and landed 2, missed 2 at the net. Some solid size giving nice fights.
