Fishing with dad today! Detroit lakes, MN area!

Tonight was interesting. I have never had this many pike attacking my rigs. The biggest one jumped at my top water frog harder than anything I’ve ever seen. The entire fishes body was out of the water like a torpedo. He got about 2 feet of air. After he jumped, I went to set the hook, but there was nothing. So I reel in the slack, and sure enough he’s there! He must have darted straight at the boat after hitting that frog. I have never seen anything like it. As a bass fishermen, I normally despise catching these snakes, but that was something else.

#2020BassOff Couldn’t catch a thing this afternoon. Threw 10XDs, plastics (senkos, craws, shads), jerk baits, lipless cranks, even a rigged up a drop shot. Caught one cute little 9 incher. Hopefully we do better tonight. I’m noticing the bite is dusk, or dawn at this post-spawn time of year in central Minnesota. That being said, I noticed the spawning bass were following the solunar pattern in pre-spawn and spawn. What have you guys noticed?
