6.5 inches of ice. Lots of action but finicky bite the last few days. Seemed to like the higher profile zviber Micro tipped with a spike over the tungsten recently. Apologies for all the dink photos, im getting tired of them too. Grinding out a couple spots to end this week so hopefully some better catches incoming

Only had about half an hour to fish but made the most of it ig. Small crappie, bluegill, and some more stupid shiners. Fun to see on the flasher and put up half a fight but nothing special. Didn't check ice officially but estimate about 4.5 inches. Red spikes in 12 ft of water on tungsten. Happy to finally get a dinky crappie out of this pond, I know there's some slabs but failed to get them though the ice yet. Had a couple pass the flasher but missed the hookset. Hopefully I'll get out more before school starts again...

12/08/2024: managed to find some safe ice today even with the heat. Little over 4.5 inches of clear ice, northern il. Stuck to the small bay of a large pond. Got some nice sunfish and a couple acceptable perch. Over 2 dozen on waxies in 10.5 ft of water. Heat tonight and tomorrow is going to make ice very dependant on the location of the water. Make sure to check before you go out in all sections you plan to travel on and every few hours in between. Probably smart to stick to smaller or shallower ponds. Should be smooth sailing after midweek. Stay safe
