Happened last weekend. I finally got my girlfriend her first decent batray. The water was very cold and the swell was big with a lot of seaweed, but she still pulled through.

Back with a chonker. 54" Shovelnose was a good fight. Still a bit of a ground swell running. Hooked what we think was a 7 gill which cut us off quickly. Rising tide at about midway.

Full Moon made a very high tide. I could see large batrays and leopard sharks in the waves close to shore.

PB Surf Halibut this morning! Thanks to the Battlestar 115.

We were casting onto the reef and it ate a mackerel head.

Got my first legal halibut from the surf. Stoked!
