Red scorpionfish

Fun day with friends at the Victory 3/4 days. Yeah, the fish were smaller but catching is still fun. Tight lines.

the description The small red scorpion is about 20 cm (8 in) long but the adult adult is about 15 cm (6 in). The head is wide with a short snout and an upward angled mouth. There are short claws just above the eye and various shorter claws, spines and skin flaps decorating the head. The dorsal fin has twelve spines and nine smooth rays, and the anal fin has two spines and six smooth rays. The pectoral fins are large, oval, and have seventeen to nineteen rays. There are about forty-four vertical rows of scales on the body but the head, thorax and base of the pectoral fins are bare. The color of this fish is generally reddish-brown and there is a large semicircular pigmented spot between the sixth and tenth spines. The fins are spotted brown and the caudal fins are not barred.
